How long the rapists are going to label their act as *He or she asked for it*.
Aesay kapray nahi pehno, log dekhtay hain.. Aesay nahi chalo, log dekhain gain.. When are we going to teach the boys *Apni nigah neechi rako*.
Yes it is true that we have to dress properly if you are a girl or a boy. And in today's world, you have to be extra careful and take proper care of yourself. Well, Zainab was not wearing any revealing clothes, she was not asking for it then how can some one be this cruel to do such thing? KIDNAPPED, RAPED & KILLED. Zainab is not the first victim of all this, she is just a new addition in the chain of forgotten kids of rape cases, child abuse & harassment.
What is the best thing to do? The main thing is to teach our kids that what is okay and what is not. Teach your kids that what parts of their body are private and no one is allowed to touch there except themselves and their parents. Make them understand that is not okay when some one is being extra friendly, even if it is some relative or anyone. If anything like this happens, they have to say No, Shout, Run from that place and tell their parents.
Give your kids a safe and friendly space so that if they face any harassment or abuse then they can feel comfortable in telling you.
Tell your kids that it is not okay and it is not some thing to hide. Do not ignore such things by saying k yeh tou hota rehta hai. Agar yeh hota rehta hai tou is ko rokna bhi hum par lazim hai. Sexual abuse and harassment in the childhood can ruin the kid's mental health for their whole life and they will never be able to wash off these memories. Teach the kids to be aware and all the proper ways to handle these situations, this is such a growing issue in Pakistan and maybe our small steps can make a difference.
No matter what, there are going to be disgusting people in the world but it is on your part to be careful and also never stay quiet about these incidents and let the people know who is the culprit because if they don’t feel ashamed in doing that then why should you feel ashamed of telling the truth?
